Behind every musician striving to share their talent is a community helping to bring their voice to the world. For countless artists in Southern California and beyond, Rene Contreras has been a driving force behind that journey. For over a decade, his instinct for discovering emerging talent has helped shape a vibrant and evolving music scene.
This documentary goes behind the scenes of Rene’s work as a music promoter, following him as he scouts artists across the globe, builds festivals from the ground up, and supports musicians from their earliest performances to the growth of their careers. Through his story, the film offers a look at the passion, persistence, and community that fuel independent music.
